Fully Vaccinated Travellers
Who is considered fully vaccinated?
Travellers will be considered fully vaccinated if:
- They have completed a full regimen of vaccines for any of Barbados' Ministry of Health & Wellness approved COVID-19 vaccinations*, for 14 days or more prior to travel to Barbados.
- Travellers who have had mixed vaccines regimens of Ministry of Health & Wellness approved vaccines will be considered fully vaccinated. E.g. (1st dose of one brand followed by 2nd dose of another which is not a one-dose regimen).
*AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Johnson & Johnson, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Sputnik V Vaccines are the currently accepted vaccines. Note: Additional vaccines may be added by the island's Ministry of Health & Wellness, guided by the WHO emergency listing approval.
What are the Barbados entry requirements for fully vaccinated travellers?
Effective May 25th, 2022, fully vaccinated travellers to Barbados are no longer required to take a COVID-19 test to enter the island!
What proof of vaccination do I need?
Pre-submission for approval of vaccine certificates via travelform.gov.bb is preferred. Additionally, proof of vaccination (in English), in the form of a vaccine certificate, is required. Validation of certificates at the point of entry will include one of the following:
- Proof of issuance from a National Public Health Organisation
- Proof of documented vaccination issued by a hospital or medical centre.
- Use of an independent validation system, such as IATA Travel Pass, or The Digital Green Certificate.
*Persons who fail to provide proof of vaccination will be subject to the protocols of unvaccinated travellers.
I am vaccinated, but my children are not. Can we travel together?
Yes! Children under 18 years, travelling with fully vaccinated guardians will be allowed to adhere to the same guidelines as their fully vaccinated guardians.
I am vaccinated but plan to travel with someone who is not. Can we travel together?
If a fully vaccinated adult traveller is travelling with an unvaccinated traveller, 18 years and older and they choose not to be separated, the rules applied to the unvaccinated traveller will also apply to the fully vaccinated traveller.
Unvaccinated Travellers
Who is considered unvaccinated?
A traveller will be considered to be unvaccinated when they are:
- A person who has not been vaccinated at all and therefore has no evidence of such.
- A person who claims to have been vaccinated but has either produced no valid evidence of vaccination or the evidence produced cannot be verified.
- A person who has been vaccinated using a vaccine not on the Barbados list of approved vaccines.
- A person who has only received one dose of a two-dose regimen.
- A person who has completed the full regimen of an approved vaccine, but less than 2 weeks prior to arrival.
What are the Barbados entry requirements for unvaccinated travellers?
Effective June 1st, there will no longer be a quarantine requirement for unvaccinated travellers to Barbados.
Unvaccinated travellers are still required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within three (3) days prior to arrival. This test may be a Standard PCR, Rapid PCR or Rapid Antigen Test. Accepted tests include tests which were taken at an accredited or recognised laboratory by a healthcare provider via any of the below:
- Nasopharyngeal sample
- Oropharyngeal sample
- Nasal sample
- Anterior nares sample
- Mid-turbinate sample
Shallow nasal swab samples, saliva samples, home kits, self-administered swabs and self-administered pharmacy tests will NOT be accepted.
All unvaccinated travellers will also be required to take a Rapid Antigen Test on arrival at the Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados. Once this result is negative, persons will be allowed to continue to their accommodation.
Additionally, unvaccinated travellers, who have documented evidence of having had COVID-19, within 90 days prior to arrival, do not need a test on arrival. Instead, they are only required to produce a negative pre-flight test.
Pre-Arrival
What are the general requirements for travelling to Barbados during COVID-19?
There are a number of new forms that should be completed based on your testing circumstances and submitted no later than 48 hours prior to arrival.
- Immigration/Customs Form - required for all persons arriving in Barbados
- Express Check-in Form and Health & Safety Waiver - required for all arriving guests
- Airport Transfer Request Form - optional for persons requesting airport transfers

What will happen to an unvaccinated traveller who arrives in Barbados without a negative test?
You may be denied boarding at your international gateway without a negative test taken according to the Barbados travel protocols.
However, if you arrive in Barbados without a valid negative test, you may be tested at the airport.

I need a test to return to my home country, what do I do?
Some countries have border entry requirements for travellers to show proof of negative COVID-19 test results.
Please be sure to check the specific entry requirements for your home or destination country and arrange your testing accordingly as requirements vary by country.

During Your Stay
What should I expect during my stay?
Please be aware that the island’s Ministry of Health and COVID-19 Monitoring Unit may conduct random checks on quarantined guests. We appreciate your full cooperation if called upon or visited.
All guests are expected to adhere to the protocols of the Crane Confidence Programme including the wearing of face masks.
Each guest room is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized pre-arrival, under the Crane Confidence Programme.
Suites occupied by guests in quarantine or isolation will not receive housekeeping service, however additional linen can be supplied on request by dialing Ext. “0” or “6545”.
For ongoing mosquito prevention, fogging occurs throughout the resort on Fridays between 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM. The fog is harmless to you and we kindly ask that you open your room to allow the fog to enter.

What is the Crane Confidence Programme?

Do I have to wear face coverings at The Crane?
Yes, indoors only. In keeping with Government mandates, face coverings are required in all enclosed public spaces, except while dining.
Within the resort, masks are optional outdoors.
Do I have to wear face coverings in Barbados?
Effective May 25th, 2022, the Government of Barbados has mandated that masks are mandatory indoors and on public transportation only. Outdoors, masks are optional.
Protocols continue to be updated frequently in response to the changes in the pandemic.

Isolation
What happens if I test positive while in Barbados?
If you test positive for COVID-19 while in Barbados, you will be contacted by an official from the island’s Ministry of Health to complete a phone assessment of your medical condition.
Typically, you will be advised of your mandatory isolation period (10-14 days) and you may make arrangements to complete this in your suite, subject to availability and applicable rates.
During isolation at The Crane:
- You will be contacted daily by our Personal Concierge to check on your overall well-being and to ensure your stay is continuing comfortably.
- You are not permitted to leave your suite and as such, your entry key card will be deactivated. Visitors are strictly prohibited.
- You will be issued with a coloured wristband in accordance with the restricted movement protocols of the Crane Confidence Programme.
At the end of your isolation period, you will be issued with a Release Certificate from Barbados’ Ministry of Health. Proof of this certificate is required before your coloured wristband can be removed. For more details on isolation rates and availability, contact [email protected].
Can’t I just leave the island instead of isolating at the resort?
If you have received a positive test result for COVID-19 while in Barbados, commercial flight travel is not permitted until recovery. Private jet transport remains an option.
However, if you choose to stay in Barbados, The Crane offers guests the option to extend their stays for the purposes of isolation.
Perhaps you may wish to continue enjoying the warm tropical breezes and the island’s brilliant year-round sunshine to speed up your recovery?
*Isolation rates are confirmed at the time of booking.
How long will I be isolated for?
You will be isolated until you have received clearance from the Ministry of Health that you are no longer contagious. This typically would be expected to last 10-14 days.
Please note that no other guests are allowed in the rooms of guests in quarantine or isolation.
What resort service will I receive while isolated to my room?
While in isolation:
- You will receive complimentary breakfast for the duration of your isolation period.
- The Resort will waive the delivery fee for your grocery, breakfast, lunch and dinner deliveries. Room service/deliveries will be conducted on a contactless basis.
- All restaurant menus will be placed in your suite for convenience and orders may be placed by contacting Room Service. Groceries can be ordered online here.
- Housekeeping service will not be offered while in isolation, however, your suite has been pre-stocked with necessary linens. Any extra linens (sheets, towels, etc.) needed will also be delivered to your room on a contactless basis.
I am a Member. How can I isolate?
Members may extend their stays for the purposes of isolation, if needed, using Crane or Encore Points, subject to availability. Please contact our Owner Services team to make your booking should this become necessary.
